VOLLEYBALL: GHS Rallies to Down Groesbeck 3-2

Gatesville overcame a six-point deficit in the fourth set and rallied to down Groesbeck 24-26, 25-22, 17-25, 25-20, 15-10 on the road Tuesday night. The Hornets, with their backs against the wall, erased a 12-6 Lady Goat lead in the fourth and never trailed in the fifth and final set. Stat leaders: Kills - Kayla McGiboney 23, Brianna Poe 10, Maddi Sims 10; assists - Makayla Heckmann 33; digs - Makaylee Mueller 10, Lexi Hall 7, Madison Carpenter 5, Laura Vega 4. Gatesville (14-3 overall) returns to Groesbeck Thursday and Saturday this week for the GHS Invitational. The Hornets' Thursday pool schedule includes Waco University (9:00 AM), Thrall (11:00 AM) and Fort Worth Castleberry (1:00 PM).
