TENNIS: GHS Downs Mexia in First UIL Match

Gatesville High, in its first-ever UIL district tennis match, defeated Mexia 14-5 Thursday. "It was a pretty good day for us, "said GHS coach Wendell Jones. "Notable in the win were all the girls. Every match with a girl won – both doubles and singles. Also noteworthy was the performance of Clayton Homeyer, who won both doubles and singles. Sean Dolan was not in the singles lineup but won his doubles." Complete match results are available on the Fall 2014 Results link on the Hornet Tennis website. Gatesville is hosting Copperas Cove today (Friday) at 4 p.m.
