VOLLEYBALL: Sub-Varsities Claim 2nd at GR Tournament

Gatesville High sub-varsity teams claimed runner-up finishes at Saturday's Glen Rose tournament. The Hornet JV finished third in pool play, then defeated Cleburne and Glen Rose to reach the finals of bracket play. GHS (11-8 overall) lost to China Spring in the championship game. The Hornet 9th Grade won its pool, beat Cleburne in the bracket semifinals and lost to Springtown in the finals. They are now 12-6 this season. Both teams are in action Tuesday here against Brownwood (9th Grade at 4:30, JV at 5:30, Varsity at 6:30 PM).
