Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year!

Thank you for allowing me the privilege of working with your child.

This year, students will become more familiar with the interconnectedness of reading, writing, listening, speaking, and thinking through reading comprehension and written responses. Students will build on their prior knowledge and continue to develop their skills with increased rigor and complexity of texts. Students will be expected to engage in academic conversations, read, and write on a daily basis.

All students will prepare throughout the year for the End-of-Course test that will be administered in April.

Students in Pre-AP English 2 will take a more in-depth look at literature selections and writing practices and will be preparing for the challenges of AP English Language their junior year.

Parents, you can be of great assistance in the learning process and in the success of your child by making sure your child is engaged with school each day and ready to learn. All students will have to respond to an "Engagement Assignment" every day for credit.

Please check out the Google Classroom codes and have your child get signed up as soon as possible. ALL STUDENTS are required to be signed up in Google Classroom. I will be using Google Classroom for all on-line assignments for those who have chosen a virtual model and for most assignments for those who have chosen an in-person model this year.

If you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me by clicking on the contact  to the right. You may also call the high school at 865-8281. My conference period is from 1:15 - 2:00 each day. Please don't hesitate to reach out.
