VOLLEYBALL: Two-a-days Start August 14 for GHS

Gatesville High volleyball teams will begin two-a-day workouts Monday, August 4. GHS prospects will have twice-daily workouts August 4-7, then host a pair of 4-team scrimmages August 8-9. "We won't have a long period of time to prepare, so those scrimmages will give us a quick look at what we are doing well and areas that we need to improve," said GHS coach Rickey Phillips. "Two-a-days are normally filled with lots of drills, stations and conditioning to get your kids re-acquainted to the gym. We have had open gym going since July 7...we've had a good turnout of players and that always allows us to do some additional things in those first four days because our kids are already in pretty decent shape and ready to go." Gatesville begins the 2014 season with back-to-back matches against Class 5A's Waco University and Waco High here August 11 and 12.
