WELCOME!!

Welcome to our Hornet Theatre Page!  We always have a lot of activity happening in the halls of GHS, so let's give you an update of what we offer to your student!

First of all, we always start the year off with a Fall Production.  This gives our student participants a chance to see the ins and outs of creating, analyzing, and building a full scale show.  The students get the chance to not only act onstage, but to also be a part of the design and building process backstage.  From sets to sound & lights, the students get the opportunity to move their ideas from the page to the stage.  

We also have an Improv Club that practices the art of clean cut comedy.  We do scene building activities that evolves into creative games and interaction with the audience.  Most of our audience members love to watch these students create scenes live and at a moment's notice.  

Our Spring Semester starts off with our UIL One Act Play season.  Our students are given 40 minutes to perform a show against 5 other schools in our district.  The students love competing in this contest because it gives them a chance to show their local community how quickly and efficiently they can perform, while also traveling away from their home turf.  

Last but not least, we have our Drama Club!  Throughout the year, the Drama Club raises awareness of our theatre productions and also participates in events like the Homecoming Festival, Christmas on Marshall Street, and more.  

As you can see, there is something for everyone in our Theatre Dept.! Thank you for the continued encouragement and support!!
