The word “audition” can make our chests feel heavy and our stomachs overturn, but it doesn’t have to! We have two major rounds of auditions throughout the year followed by recruitment auditions in April/May. While still subject to change, our first audition posting for the year is below:
All theatre roles, including actors, technicians, designers, and leadership/stage management positions must be filled via audition, meaning “you miss 100% of the roles you don’t audition for.” If you aren’t sure what monologues are acceptable, please reach out to Mr. Hood for more information or use the recommended site below to find an appropriate audition piece to memorize:

Current Course Schedule:

- Slapstick Comedy Performance Tentatively November 7-8
Junior High One Act Play Troupe

In the spring, I’m excited to direct a Spring Fusion piece under the Fantastical Drama genre; it is tentatively scheduled for February through May production which will allow both Junior High and High School students to audition and apply for technical roles regardless of troupe designation, with performances tentatively in early May. This production process will support students throughout the vertically-aligned curriculum (Grades 7-12) in providing an educational space for mentorship, recruitment, and retainment as we perform one last show of the year with “all the bells and whistles.”
At the end of the Hornet Theatre season, we will be hosting a banquet to celebrate our growth and successes throughout the year; all Hornet Theatre members are required to dress formally for this event, similar to OAP awards ceremony attire.

Please note all dates are tentative and subject to change.
Our calendar is currently tentative until the Fine Arts team meeting in August, when we will be able to confirm more dates as concrete/unchanging. “Call” denotes when students participating are required to be in attendance while “Go” denotes event time starts
